Frequently asked questions
Does Smart Leaf work offline?
Yes. Scanning, disease detection, and browsing the disease library all work without an internet connection. Some reference images in disease detail pages may load from the web when you view the gallery.
Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. All disease detection runs on your device. Photos you save to scan history are stored locally on your phone only. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
The scan result says "Not a Leaf" — why?
The model couldn't confidently identify a plant leaf in the image. Try a clearer photo with a single leaf centered in frame, good lighting, and minimal background clutter.
How do I delete my scan history?
Open the app, go to Settings, and tap Clear scan history. This permanently removes all saved scans and their images from your device.
Can I adjust detection sensitivity?
Yes. In Settings, use the confidence threshold stepper to make the app more or less strict before reporting a match. Tap Reset to restore the default.
Is the diagnosis always accurate?
Smart Leaf is an educational tool, not a professional diagnostic service. Results depend on image quality and model limitations. Always verify with a qualified agronomist or plant pathologist for important decisions.
Camera permission is denied — what do I do?
Go to your device Settings → Apps → Smart Leaf → Permissions and enable Camera. You can still use the gallery picker without camera access.
